Big Bear Mountain Resort

This premier alpine resort offers a year-round recreational retreat in the San Bernardino Mountains. J&J spearheaded extensive renovations to this Southern California classic.

J&J undertook multiple improvements, including upgrades at guest arrival, readapting of operational uses, a patio/deck expansion with a snow melt system installed underneath new pavers. Additionally, gathering spaces were created on the deck by constructing numerous communal fire pits allowing guests to relax with a view of the slopes.

This ambitious project also included a reconfiguration of the west deck to provide new guest circulation access points to the West main stairs, and new plaza with upgraded ADA accessibility. J&J oversaw upgrades in hardscape, new design of pedestrian connection between existing rental building and the training academy, as well as expansion of the lay-back bar to accommodate guest volume. Regarded as one of the winter sport industry’s most unique après-ski venues, Big Bear Mountain Resort now has an atmosphere unmatched at any area destination.
